Nancy McGuire Choi
Nancy McGuire Choi is a social enterprise executive with 15 years of experience in international development, information management, and technology innovation. She specializes in building high-performing teams, cultivating programmatic innovation, and leading organizational transformation. As Chief Operating Officer at Polaris, Nancy leads the organization’s strategy and day-to-day operations, as well as our data, technology, and operations teams.
Nancy previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Development Gateway, an international non-profit that creates digital tools and services to support data-driven decisions in international development. She has spent over a decade creating, professionalizing and scaling global technology and advisory solutions, including growing the organization’s flagship aid management program from a one-country start-up to a multi-year technology and institutional strengthening program in 25+ countries. Nancy cultivated institutional partnerships and oversaw programs in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe for a range of partners—national governments, the World Bank, UN agencies, USAID, the European Commission, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She served as Principle Investigator for the AidData Center for Development Policy consortium, a $25M USAID Global Development Lab award to create geospatial data and tools. She also served as Co-Executive Director of AidData, an innovation lab at The College of William and Mary, co-founded by Development Gateway.
Previously, Nancy monitored and responded to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies for USAID's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance. She holds an MS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a BA in Anthropology from Harvard University.
