Alfonso Wright

Alfonso Wright joined Polaris in April 2015 and assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in 2020. As CFO, Alfonso provides strategic leadership for the organization’s finance functions. In his role, Alfonso oversees the annual operating budget, multi-year financial plan, procurement, investments and directs the preparation of financial reports. Alfonso leads the finance team to ensure that all financial planning, budgeting, expense management, cash flow, and organizational operations achieve optimal resource allocation that balance programmatic goals, new opportunities, and resource restrictions.

Alfonso has over 20 years of financial management experience, including internal control systems, cash forecasting and management budgeting and risk management. Prior to joining Polaris, Alfonso was the controller for Legal Aid Society DC, DC’s oldest and largest civil legal services organization, where he oversaw the annual audit, investments and managed all of the finance and accounting operations.

Alfonso is a graduate of Howard University and The Washington School of Photography. He has served as Treasurer for Green East Community Garden and Lifting Voices.
