Diana E. Alonzo Watkins
Director of Foundation Relations
Diana E. Alonzo Watkins joined Polaris in October 2018 as the Director of Foundation Relations. In this role, she is focused on creating a strategic and comprehensive institutional partnerships program to expand the reach, impact, and visibility of Polaris. This is inclusive of advancing and expanding on existing partnerships while also thoughtfully identifying new opportunities that will both secure funding to support Polaris' work to disrupt trafficking of victims.
Diana has been in the nonprofit development world for over 10 years with a a variety of fundraising experiences engaging and stewarding gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations at DC-based non-profit organizations. She has worked at grassroots organizations such as the International Labor Rights Forum and the Institute for Policy Studies, as well as focused on serving the Latinx community by working at CentroNía, a high-quality, dual-language early education center. She has lead fundraising efforts and initiatives inclusive of grant support, event sponsorship, and overarching development strategy. She holds an MA from American University in U.S. Foreign Policy and from the University of Maryland, a B.A. in Government & Politics and a B.A. in Spanish (Translation).
