My travels around the world have seared into me that, in the slums of Mumbai, on the streets of Nashville, amongst Syrian refugees, human trafficking is everywhere. Millions of vulnerable people, are tricked, coerced, recruited, and enslaved. Traffickers, some formal and organized, other informal and transactional, earn stunning profits by using, over and over, the bodies and labor of their fellow human beings.
That’s why I support Polaris and serve as an Ambassador to this incredible organization. Polaris takes an innovative approach to tackling the crime of human trafficking and works to systematically disrupt the networks that rob human beings of their lives and their independence.
From programs like the National Human Trafficking Hotline, which connects survivors of all forms of human trafficking to nationwide services to get help and stay safe, to the Illicit Massage Businesses Initiative, where Polaris works to disrupt the operations and venues that compel so many victims into commercial sex and/or labor against their will, Polaris’s solutions are effective and far-reaching.
