Confidentiality

The Trafficking Hotline maintains the strictest standards of confidentiality. However, the hotline is required by law to share certain information with other agencies, including law enforcement, in certain situations. These situations include those in which there is any danger to minors or threats of imminent harm.

Survivor-Centered Practice

Sharing the confidentiality policy and exceptions up front allows signalers to make informed choices about what they share. The Trafficking Hotline never shares information about a person’s immigration status with immigration or law enforcement authorities nor does the hotline provide law enforcement information aimed at arresting people engaged in commercial sex.
