Trafficking Hotline professionals take detailed notes and share the signalers’ experience/information with other agencies including law enforcement as feasible. Not all tips are shared with law enforcement. Repeat reports, for example, of online rumors may not be shared every time they are reported. Nor will the Trafficking Hotline share information that presents no actual evidence of trafficking.
What are actionable tips?
Good tips are timely. They include the whereabouts of a potential victim, or how to find that person, and are shared as soon as it is safe to do so. Good tips rarely come from total strangers!
Hotline Professionals do not investigate tips or work with law enforcement to do so.
