Jean Gilbert

Jean Gilbert is a partner in the Managed Services – Accounting Department at Marcum. Ms. Gilbert came to Marcum via the Firm’s merger with Raffa, P.C., one of the preeminent public accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, specializing in nonprofits.

Ms. Gilbert has been a key leader in the Managed Accounting Services team since she joined the department in 2006. In addition to leading teams that provide a range of outsourced accounting services, Ms. Gilbert’s engagements have included facilitation of enterprise risk management, financial and operational risk assessments, evaluation of internal controls and implementation of recommendations, providing expert support for grant management (domestic and international), analysis of indirect cost rates, and providing guidance on spin-offs, mergers, and dissolutions.

Before joining Marcum, Jean held roles as the director of finance for Safe Kids Worldwide and the director of operations for the National Health Council. She is a frequent presenter, author, and instructor on nonprofit accounting issues and contributed to the Standards of Accounting and Financial Reporting for Voluntary Health and Welfare Organizations (The Black Book). Jean served for six years on the AICPA Not-for-Profit Conference Steering Committee.
