Meeting Our Mission With Hope

As our country  prepares to transition to the next presidential administration, a new Congress, and new local leaders, our organizational values that have grounded our work for the last 22 years remain unchanged. The mission at Polaris is clear: End human trafficking and support survivors on their journeys of freedom. We will continue to center survivors in our work, use data to tell the truth, and change the conditions that make people vulnerable in the first place.

We all can agree on two things: First, victims of human trafficking still need our support while we pursue the traffickers who rob individuals of their freedom. Second, human trafficking is a serious issue and the public deserves to know accurate information about what trafficking is and how it happens. Regardless of who is in office, Polaris pledges to use our pillars of work in supporting these unmovable values:

Direct Response: Ensuring our vulnerable neighbors, families, and friends can get help when they need it makes our communities stronger.  We continue to operate the confidential National Human Trafficking Hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in 200 languages.

Research and Intelligence: A strong fight against trafficking starts with knowing the realities of this crime, and that is why we partner with survivors who want to share their own perspectives and experiences. This is why Polaris strongly believes in listening to survivors, like we are doing with agricultural workers through Nonechka or the National Survivor Study (NSS). We will continue to lift up and create platforms for survivors to spread joy, resilience and creativity.

Campaigns and Public Engagement: Polaris’s non-partisan efforts to prevent human trafficking are based on two decades working in the field and more than 17 years managing the National Human Trafficking Hotline. We will keep sharing our knowledge with policymakers, law enforcement, and other allies with the goal of eradicating human trafficking. We will continue offering the public the right information about human trafficking. We will, now and forever, remain steadfast in commitment to our mission. In times like these, we need your support more than ever. We invite you to make a contribution today. Your donation will ensure Polaris has the resources we need to support victims, protect vulnerable communities, and pursue policies that will end trafficking once and for all.
