Polaris sent a letter to House and Senate leadership urging them to include the ENABLERS Act in the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act. This legislation builds on the work done by Polaris and others to require businesses to disclose who their actual owner is by closing a loophole that allows some businesses to skirt anti-money laundering responsibilities. This seemingly basic change opens up a world of possibilities for law enforcement to connect the dots to uncover networks of human trafficking businesses.
